Rosmawi (A111675)

My opinions about BBC learning English. I think the learning English Professor David Crystal is good because this website give me many knowledge about words and history words. In this website student can listening and can improve the pronunciation to speak in English.

The my opinions about words in BBC learning English. I choose two words and share to all my friend in my class Foundation English set 43. The first words is "Bling". The my opinions about words bling. the first bling refer to the diamonds and jewellery of the showy clothing. After that the words to become the title song hip hop and title novel and I think the word bling to refer anything shiny and worth a good amount of money and the anything shiny such as, necklace, jewellery, ring and ear ring.

The second words I choose word blog, the opinions about this words. I think the blog refer to the space to the Internet. Other people can read and writing blog anytime. The blog some personal diary. But the blog can be share to the other people can read and give any information. After read the person can give feedback or comment about blog or information in the blog. The blog it's an abbreviation a phrase. The my opinions the blog is one space to the Internet and in the blog person can read, diary writing and bulletin posting to friend and all people because all people can read in the blog.

i would like to give my opinion about our class activities. we have many activities in our class such as singing, project presentation, body movement, and hometown presentation. now i would like to give my opinion about our project presentation.
firstly, the presentation is a good way to improve our language because we can use an english to explain and give our opinion. using language is the best way to improve our English.
secondly, the presentation will train our language skill and make our confident when we need to speak in English.
thirdly, the project work make we are close together because we can work in a group and everyone have chance to give an idea, support and opinion to carry out the job.
lastly, i want to thank to madame Maslawati Binti Mohamad. i will remember you in my life and to all of my foundation classmate, you are so friendly.

Listen to Professor Crystal....

wuss

'He's a wuss.' 'She's a wuss.' It means ineffectual person, indecisive, weak. It's from the United States; it came in in the 1980s. To be honest, I didn't think it would last, but it's still here. It has a very unclear etymology. It may be from 'wussy' - that is from pussy wussy, you know, the pussy cat. It's a kind of talking down about a cat. Or it might be a blend of 'wimp' - that is an ineffectual person - plus 'pussy': wimp/pussy, wussy, wuss. 'Stop being a wuss!' - that's the usage you hear a lot these days. Anyway, whatever the etymology, a politician was said to be 'a liberal wuss' - that is a coward. And there are even Wuss Awards now. I saw on the web the other day, 'Who was the biggest Wuss of 2005?' - with a capital W - this is obviously something very attractive to be. The word seems to be developing. It's become a verb - 'Stop wussing!' 'Ah! He's wussing around!' And I've even seen a new noun, wusser, wussers - 'We're all wussers now!' 'We've all become a complete pack of complete wussers,' says somebody on a website.

Wysiwyg

Wysiwyg. But it's not spelt as it sounds. Wysiwyg. It's an acronym meaning 'what you see is what you get'. It came in in the early 1980s in computing. It meant that what you see on the screen is what you get in the output. For example, you type something on the screen and when you print it out, it looks just like it's on the screen. Wysiwyg. It was especially found in desktop publishing. So it's a technical term then? Well, yes, but the phase actually isn't. And that's the thing I want to draw your attention to - the phrase was never technical. It actually started in the United States, in a television show, in the early 1970s; it was called 'Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In'. An actor there called Flip Wilson appeared as a cross-dressing character called Geraldine and as he came on, he would say, 'what you see is what you get!' And I've heard it used since in all sorts of circumstances. I've heard it used in restaurants referring to the food - 'what you see is what you get'. And in a tourist brochure referring to beautiful scenery - 'come to this country and what you see is what you get' - that is, the tourist guide will give you everything you expect. And it got its accolade, I think, this phrase, when Britney Spears had a song which included it - 'because I can promise U baby what you see is what U get' - the word 'you' was spelt with just a capital letter 'U'

Thirty-Something

This phrase, ‘thirty-something’, it came in in the 1980s
referring to people of an unspecified age between 30 and
40. These were members of the baby boom, the people
who were born 20, 30 years before and entering their 30s
now and not knowing how to cope – or at least, that was
the idea.
It was the name of a television series. It also became the
name of a film. People who had lost their freedom, was
the idea. Children, they’d got now, demanding jobs,
approach of middle-age, gloom! There’s a website which
says it’s ‘personal growth for thirty-somethings’.
It’s used both as an adjective – ‘she’s a thirty-something
career woman’. And it’s also used as a noun, as I just did
– ‘the thirty-somethings’.
And then, the ending got applied to others. We started to hear ‘twentysomethings’.
And now we’ve got ‘forty-somethings’ – that was a television
show in 2003, ‘Forty-Something’.
Well, it can be any age. The implication is always that there’s a set of
values or problems associated with that age.
Me? I’m sixty-something!

Dumb Down

Way back in the 1930s, you could dumb something down.
For instance, a newspaper making a story more appealing
to the masses would say, ‘we’re dumbing it down’, or
something like that. It was an American usage, dumb
meant stupid. It was transitive, that is the verb governed
an object, ‘you’re dumbing something down’.
Now in the 1990s, we get a different grammatical use - a
use of the verb without an object, an intransitive use,
‘they’re dumbing down’. It has the same meaning; it
means become less intellectually challenging.
It now refers to any of the media where the content is
being trivialised in the opinion of somebody. ‘Television is
dumbing down … Britain as a whole is dumbing down,’
because of its fascination with trivia and reality TV and all
sorts of undemanding watching. ‘Are we dumbing down?’
said a newspaper headline recently.
It’s got a whole range of grammatical use now, both transitive and
intransitive, you get, ‘it’s been dumbed down’, ‘it’s being dumbed down’ …
I’ve even heard the word as a noun – or the phrase really – ‘I don’t like
the dumbing down of programmes’, or for short, probably the commonest
use of all now, ‘I don’t like all this dumbing down’.
No need to worry here, there’s no dumbing down on this website
My opinion…..I think that David cystal learning is the best way to corret my pronoun. With this listening, I can learn how to pronoun. It will help myselp to improve my English language. Other than that, word in this listening is easy to understand. It mean that I will learn with enjoy and fun. I choose a word bling bling because it easy to understand and I also can know their meaning when I see the word in the first time. David Crystal tell about the history of the ‘bling bling’ in this article. It arrived in English in the late 1990, used to describe diamonds and jewellery and all kinds of showy clothing, accoutrements and others. Well, it became nationally known in the USA when the artist Baby Gangster - Cash Money artist - made a hit hip-hop song called 'Bling Bling'. And it soon arrived in Britain, where it was more usually used without the reduplication, you know, 'bling', by itself. It was the title of a novel by Erica Kennedy, and its sense began to broaden as people began to use the word in new ways. And even that definition is passé - a rich meal can be bling. 'Bling Breakfast' was the headline of a newspaper article in New York a couple of years ago.anoter word that i choice is a Not"In the Sunday Times a couple of week's ago, I saw a usage written down - previously, I'd only heard it in speech. The headline read: 'Dumb Blondes, Not!' It was an article about a group of very high-powered women, and the headline was saying Dumb blondes, they are not!Well, you can see what it is, it's an abbreviation to the word 'not'. It's an unusual usage, putting the 'not' at the end, instead of in the middle. It's a bit like a tag - you know - tag questions, and tag statements. It's used to negate a statement of fact. But it's more than just a negative. It's actually emphasising the negative opinion of the speaker. The speaker is really saying, 'What I've just said is rubbish!' It's like, 'No way!' or 'I don't think so!'So it's usually used after an opposite point of view. I heard somebody say this coming out of a cinema, 'O, yeah, it was great film, not!' And then I've heard, 'This is a cool website, not!' And, 'Sure we're ready, not!'So listen out for it. It's a fashion and it might not last. And if it doesn't, you can always say, 'That's a cool bit of slang, not!'

Hoodie and Bless

norazamuddin bin mohd tahar
a111915

"hoodie"

It referred to people who were going around looking like gangs wearing hooded tops, baseball caps, clothing which deliberately obscured the face, suggesting that the wearer might be a danger to the public.I mean, youngsters complaining of being stereotyped just because of a few nasty people. The linguistics isn't so controversial. The spelling first of all, 'hoody', or 'hoodie', and more often with the 'ie' than not. And that's because it's the usual familiarity marker that you get on lots of words in English, words like, sweetie, auntie, goalie (goal keeper), daddie and mummie, and of course in names too, Susie (Susan).

Well, will it catch on? I think so, judging by the huge sales of hoodies now. And also, it's achieved a kind of presence in popular music. There was a single released towards the end of 2005 by Lady Sovereign, it was actually called 'Hoodie'. And then on the web the other day, I was looking at iPods, and the latest accessory to keep your iPod clothed - what do you think it's called? An iPod hoodie!

"bless"

There's quite a range of explanations using 'bless' in English, all originally from the religious use of the word. 'Bless you!' somebody says after a sneeze. 'Ah! Bless my soul!' - a rather older fashioned one. 'Bless you!'

An interesting one is, 'Bless your heart!' used mainly by adults talking down - 'Ah! Bless your heart!' - to a child.

And in the 1990s, this remarkable use, the verb by itself, usually preceeded by the interjection, 'Ah!' - 'Ah! Bless!' - that sort of use. Notice the tone of voice there.

I heard it when a little child had a cat snuggling up to her and the parent said, 'Ah! Bless!' And then the child hurt her finger, 'Ah! Bless!' People at the zoo, looking at penguins, 'Ah! Bless! Isn't it sweet!'

Of course, when you get a usage like that it can get ironic very quickly. A politician now in parliament complains of harsh treatment and somebody says, 'Ah! Bless! Isn't it sad that he's so upset!' Or somebody's really trying to do something but not succeeding, 'Ah! Bless!' once again.

It's a general expression of indulgent sympathy - 'Isn't that sweet?' - always with that distinctive tone of voice, always a hint of talking down.
Never, never, never, use it to your boss, not if you want to keep your job!

PROFESOR DAVID CRYSTAL

NURUL BARIAH BT MAT LAZIM A 112766
Assalamuaikum……..

Hello….friends, today I would like give an opinion about listening activity. I choose ‘cell’ and ‘dumb down’ in this David Crystal online session. With this word ‘cell’, I can know about meaning of this word. This word origin When mobile phone technology came in a few years ago, the term was immediately shortened. Mobile phones became 'mobiles'. Besides that, in the United States, a different term emerged, 'cell phone' is short for cellular phone. Now, cell phone was tricky because some people spelled it as one word and some people spelled it as two. Prof. David Crystal did a search on Google the other day, and the one-word spelling got eighteen million hits, and the two-word spelling got a hundred and thirty-five million hits. So it seems we can use both spellings at the moment. But either way, people shortened the phrase to 'cell'. Somebody the other day said to him, 'Have you got your cell?' 'Call me on your cell!' 'Sync our cell with your company!' mean that's synchronise - synchronise your cell with your company - that's the sort of phrase I get these days.
Another word I choose from this David Crystal learning is ‘dumb down’. The word origin from in the 1930s, you could dumb something down. For instance, a newspaper making a story more appealing to the masses would say, 'we're dumbing it down', or something like that. It was an American usage, dumb meant stupid. It was transitive, that is the verb governed an object, 'you're dumbing something down'. But, Now in the 1990s, we get a different grammatical use it mean a use of the verb without an object, an intransitive use, for example 'they're dumbing down'. It has the same meaning, it means become less intellectually challenging. So,that all I want to give opinion about this BBC online session.

Listen to Professor David Crystal

I'm choose "hoddie" and "get a life" in the David Crystal online section.

Hoddie

Hoddie referred to people who were going around looking like gangs wearing hooded tops, baseball caps, clothing which deliberately obscured the face, suggesting that the wearer might be a danger to the public, so much so that baseball caps and hooded topswere actually banned in 2005 at one shopping mall in Britain. The linguistics isn’t so controversial. The spelling first ofall, ‘hoody’, or ‘hoodie’, and more often with the ‘ie’ than not. That’s because it’s the usual familiarity marker that you get on lots of words in English, words like sweetie, auntie, daddie and others.

Get a Life

This familiar old noun ‘life’, now used widely in the phrase ‘get a life!’, usually in a derogatory tone of voice like that ‘Get a life, why don’t you!’ Well, it’s said to somebody who the speaker feels is leading an unfulfilling existence, your life is empty, dull, there’s more to life than what
you’re doing, start living! It can be serious, but it’s usually jocular. It can be used for instance to a workaholic, or for anybody obsessed with something like a television programme, always watching a particular soap, shall we say. That person might be told to ‘get a life’.

chav and not

mohd fandi che isa a116108.

"Chav"

It came to the fore as a word in 2005 really, I didn't remember hearing it much before that. It refers to a type of youth, supposedly uncultured, maybe a bit anti-social, perhaps even violent, but certainly marked out, at least from the point of view of the critic, by very bad taste. Chavs are supposed to wear a lot of flashy jewellery, white trainers, baseball caps, sham designer clothes. Girls expose a lot of midriff. Nothing racial about it all, I should say.

Now, whether it's cool or not to be a chav, I couldn't say - at least, not at my age! I find the linguistics much more interesting. It's a problem though, the linguistics. Where does the word come from? It's been around since the 19th century. Lexicographer Eric Partridge mentions it in his huge dictionary of slang and unconventional English. He talks about it coming from Romany (the language of the gypsies), 'chavy' - a child, or 'chaval' - a boy. And then later it was used for 'men' as well.

But nobody knows who's reactivated it in recent times. It's a noun, 'a chav', 'chavs', and also an adjective - people talk about 'chav behaviour' or 'chav insults' and that sort of thing. Oh, don't believe the popular etymologies that you read sometimes in the press and on websites. I saw one the other day, people said, 'It's an acronym, 'chav', from council house and violent' - well, no, it isn't, that was made up in recent times. Appealing as these etymologies are, they're nothing to do with the real Romany history of this very interesting word.

"Not"

In the Sunday Times a couple of week's ago, I saw a usage written down - previously, I'd only heard it in speech. The headline read: 'Dumb Blondes, Not!' It was an article about a group of very high-powered women, and the headline was saying - Dumb blondes, they are not!

Well, you can see what it is, it's an abbreviation to the word 'not'. It's an unusual usage, putting the 'not' at the end, instead of in the middle. It's a bit like a tag - you know - tag questions, and tag statements. It's used to negate a statement of fact.

But it's more than just a negative. It's actually emphasising the negative opinion of the speaker. The speaker is really saying, 'What I've just said is rubbish!' It's like, 'No way!' or 'I don't think so!'

So it's usually used after an opposite point of view. I heard somebody say this coming out of a cinema, 'O, yeah, it was great film, not!' And then I've heard, 'This is a cool website, not!' And, 'Sure we're ready, not!'

So listen out for it. It's a fashion and it might not last. And if it doesn't, you can always say, 'That's a cool bit of slang, not!'

I very enjoy these activity.
TWO WORDS FROM PROFESSOR DAVID CRYSTAL

BLING

This word arrived in English in late 1990s. the sound-symbolic character of the word - glistening light reflected by metal - it caught popular attention. The Times ran an article on it. It was the title of a novel by Erica Kennedy, and its sense began to broaden as people began to use the word in new ways. There's a website, 'Think Bling!' defining it as 'anything shiny and worth a
good amount of money'. Cars can now be bling.

BLOG

In 2001, I wrote a book called, Language and the Internet, and I didn’t mention the word blog. Well, this year, I have a second edition out. In it goes, that’s how fast the internet moves. Those who blog, bloggers, carry out the activity of blogging, setting up a blog site, with a unique web address in order to do so. It’s an abbreviation of ‘web log’; a phrase that was first used in 1997, both as a noun and as a verb, a web log.

Task 1

In my opinion, when I online the Listening to Professor David Crystal's, I feel the different feeling and I enjoyed to online the web site. Moreover, I think the listening session is the best way to improve my affected by something when I listening to Professor Crystal speaking. And also, I can learning many new word when I listening Professor Crystal speaking. I hope all my friends have a same feeling with me when they online the Listening to Professor David Crystal's.

Task 2

Cell

In my opinion, when mobile phone tecnology came in a few years a go, the term was shortened. Mobile phones became 'mobiles'. But that was in the UK. In the United States, a different emerged, 'cell phone' short for cellular phone. Now, cell phone was tricky because some people spelled it as one word, and people spelled it s two. Many spelling got eighteen million hits, and the two-word spelling got a hundred thirty-five million hits can we get when we search on google. So it seems can we use both spelling at the either way, people shortened the phrase to 'cell'. And this usage is growing in the UK. In advertisment, 'cells have just got coloured'. In other word phones are now in different colours. It's a new sense of the word cell somebody invites we to using cell. Its dosen't mean that they're as into their monastery, or indeed, asking we to visit them in prison.

Out

In my opinion, the word 'out' as usage is still broadening. the word 'out' came to be used as a verb in the early 1990s. To out meant to tell the word that the person was a homosexual, usually a was short for 'coming out of the closet', out of your cupbord. People who do the 'outing' who tell the word about are 'others'. And then, people have been 'outed'. So, all kind of other usages developed right activists took up the word. And now there are several websites the title. Is now positive term, 'coming out', referring to anyone who decides about their sexuality, men or women. There was a flurry of usage in British MPs admitted to being gay

PROFESSOR DAVID CRSTAL

Name:Shahirah Bt Abu Hasan

hi...today i want to share with my friends about learning english from David Crystal...I think, the online session from David Crstal is interesting. It because in this website i can learn a new words and also can know how pronounce that words because i can hear this pronounce.Beside that, from this website i also can know about latest news about world and many languages in world because it has news in 33 languages,it's so amazing.I can hear and learn new languages. The important things is i can learn grammar,it make me more confident when i write essay or talk.

Wysiwyg is acronym and it's not spelt as it's sounds. It's an acronym meaning 'what you see is what you get'.It came early 1980s in computing. It means that what you see on the screen is what u get in the output.
Example, if you type something on the screen and when you print it out,it looks just like it's on the screen.'Wysiwyg'(what you see is what you get).It was especially found in desktop publishing.

Thirty-something
This my second vocabulary i choose...
This phrase, 'thirty-something',it came from in 1980s reffering to people of an unspecified age between 30 and 40.These were members of the baby boom, the people who were born 20,30 years before and entering their 30s now and not knowing how to cope-or at least, that was the idea.

Well,it can be any age.The implication is always that there's a set of values or problems associated with that age.

listening task

I choose 'bling' in this David Crystal lesson. This word attrack me so much because it sound familiar for me, especially we said it many time in our ice breaking time at class lesson.
In my opinion about learning with this new way, with internet and online learning, it easy and help me correct my pronounce. when im hear the audio, at the same time i read the text, it make me easy to understand and know better about the history of the word. This is so interesting because usually, we just heard and said the word, but we don't know that word come from where and what story behind the word.
'Bling', arrived in English in late of 1990s. this word used to describe diamonds and jewellery and all of kind show cloth and other.
This word became nationally known in the USA when the artist Baby Gangster - Cash Money artist - made a hit hip-hop song called 'Bling Bling'. And it soon arrived in Britain, where it was more usually used without the reduplication, you know, 'bling', by itself. It was in dictionaries by 2002.
Another word i had choose is 'blog', this word more familiar for me because im a blogger almost for a year. I had my own blog and now, in this English faundation, we also need to do a blog. blog, bloggers, carry out the activity of blogging, setting up a blog site, with a unique web address in order to do so. It's an abbreviation of 'web log'; a phrase that was first used in 1997, both as a noun and as a verb, a web log. content management system, a way of getting content on to a webpage; it's a genre, a bit like diary writing, or bulletin posting. Blogger usually write about their own life, story, same as we write a diary, and blogger also do it diary at least often several time in week, and there is a blogger who write new entry each for everyday.
That all for my opinion.

It is because firstly, that sentence easy to me to understand and know about meaning he reaching. That pronunciation also easy and clearly because I can hear that David Crystal pronouns when I choose another words from this online session. With this word, ‘bless’, I can know about meaning of this word. In this Online, bless origin and all originally from the religious use of the word. This word have many meaning such as 'Bless you!' somebody says after a sneeze. a rather older fashioned one. 'Bless you!'. Then, An interesting one is, 'Bless your heart!' used mainly by adults talking down or 'Ah! Bless your heart!' use for a child. And in the 1990s, this remarkable use, the verb by itself, usually preceeded by the interjection, Besides that, 'Ah!' or 'Ah! Bless!' is that sort of use.
Another word I choose from this David Crystal learning is ‘blog’.That word origin from In 2001, he find this words when he wrote a book called, Language and the Internet, and he didn't mention the word blog. My opinion…..
I think that David cystal learning is the best way to corret my pronoun. It arrived in English in the late 1990s, used to describe diamonds and jewellery and all kinds of showy clothing, accoutrements and others. 'Bling Breakfast' was the headline of a newspaper article in New York a couple of years ago. Another word that I choose is binge. Binge has a long linguistic history. . It means 'a heavy drinking bout', and goes right back to the 1850s, both as a noun and as a verb. Binge meant drinking in those days. In the 1970s, people referred to eating heavily as binge eating. 'Binge drinking' - people who drink in order to get drunk, drinking large quantities quickly, and for fun. A chocolate binge mean that have too much chocolate.
Assalamuaikum……..
Today,in my opinion about listening activity,I choose ‘cell’ and ‘dumb down’ in this David Crystal online session. I choose another words from this online session. With this word ‘cell’, I can know about meaning of this word. When mobile phone technology came in a few years ago, the term was immediately shortened. Mobile phones became 'mobiles'. In the United States, a different term emerged, 'cell phone', short for cellular phone. Now, cell phone was tricky because some people spelled it as one word and some people spelled it as two. He did a search on Google the other day, and the one-word spelling got eighteen million hits, and the two-word spelling got a hundred and thirty-five million hits. So it seems you can use both spellings at the moment. But either way, people shortened the phrase to 'cell'. Somebody the other day said to me, 'Have you got your cell?' 'Call me on your cell!' 'Sync your cell with your company!' - that's synchronise - synchronise your cell with your company - that's the sort of phrase you get these days.
Now in the 1990s, we get a different grammatical use - a use of the verb without an object, an intransitive use, 'they're dumbing down'. It has the same meaning, it means become less intellectually challenginng.

I think the online session, David Crystal is very interesting to improve my vocab and it also easy word to understand. I can learn more word from this session. I also can know the origin word, where the word come from and where is the first place people use it. I also can pronounce the word clearly because I can hear how to pronounciation the word from Prof David Crystal. This web is also interesting because I can learn more about the other country, how they pronounce the word such as from America, Spanich, Arabic and others. This web is very attractive to learn an English and I feel so interested to learn a more word and pronounce it. Finally, I hope all my friend and people who want to improve their can visit this website. Thank you.

IN YOUR DREAMS

I choose the word ‘ In your dreams’ because it cushy to pronounce and easy to understand the words. The word come in during the 1990s. The word intend to somebody is being unrealistic, very optimistic and very hopeful. The word mixes two senses of the world ‘dream’. All people in the world always use this word to tell their self not dream about the thing cannot realize with herself. For example, I wish to go to London but it cannot realize because I am so poor and I also don’t have enough money. The word are used in many ways and for reach different meaning. For example, taxi driver when in traffic jam with his passenger, the driver tell his passenger that he hope the road ahead was clearing although he know the road cannot and never be clean. The passenger said ‘in your dreams’ to taxi driver because the passenger it just dreams. The word not use just in the second person but also the first and third person in the conversation.

LIFE

In my opinion the word ‘life’ is a simple word all people would be understand. It easy to remember and also easy to pronounce. It mean the quality which people, animals, and plants have when they are not dead, and which objects and substances do not have or period of time during which they are alive. This familiar old noun ‘life’ used widely in the phrase ‘get a life’. The phrase goes back a couple of decades. It was US slang in California, years and years ago, and then it became the name of a US television show. And then it became all sorts of usages around radio, television, novels, short stories - don't take things too seriously! Chill out! Get a life! Usually it use when someone workaholic and does not interested other thing except their works, or for anybody obsessed with something like a television programme and others. That person might be told to 'get a life'.

Listen to Professor Crystal

Task 1

In my opinion, I think the onlines session with Listening to Professor David Crystal, is the best way to improve my English. I say that because, when I online the website, I get a lot of many new word when I listening the Professor Crystal's speaking. I feel enjoyed and excited to introduce the website to my friend. It because the website is very good and effective to improve another person in English. I hope all my friends also can get a many benefit when they listen to Professor Crystal online.

Task 2

Cell

In my opinion, today every people in the world need to cell phone to communicate each other. Mobile phones technology came in a few years ago. In the UK, mobile phones became 'mobiles'. But in the United States, a different emerged, 'cell phone', is a short for Cellular phone.

Today, cell phone was tricky. It because some people spelled it as one word and another people spelled it as two. Moreover, when we search on Google the other day, and spelling got eighteen million hits, and the two - word spelling got a hundred thirty- five million hits. It is showing you can use both spellings at the either way, people shortened the phrase to 'cell'. And this usage is growing in the UK.

In advertisement, 'cells' have just got coloured, in other word phones are now in different colours. It's a new sense of the word 'cell' somebody invites you to 'use my cell' it doesn't mean that they're as into their monastery.

Out

In my opinion, the word 'out' usage is still broadening and was in inverted commas, adjective. Firstly, the word 'out' came to be used as a verb. As example 'To out meant to tell the world that the person was a homosexual, usually a was short for ' coming out of the closet', 'out of your cupboard '. And then the word 'out' is developed. Now, people who do the 'outing', who tell the world about are 'outers'. Also people have been 'outed'. We can see all kind of otherusages developed rights activists took up the word. And now there are several websites the title. Besides that, the word 'coming out' is use for a positive term, referring to anyone who decides about their sexuality, men or women. And there was a flurry of usage in British MPs admitted to being gay.

Activities comment

In class set 43 activity, i want to share my opinion about it. I more like one activity in my class, namely, singging the song. With the song i can improve my language, how to use it with the other word. and know the meaning of the idioms. Usually we just sing the song without care about the meaning, but when i learn the song in my class i know that its not only a song but have a massage the they want to tell us. With the song we can also share our knowledge about the event in the song. With the song i can also improve my pronounciation in my english language. After i learn the song in my class with my funky lecturer, whenever i sing the english song i must find the meaning and try to seek the massage in the song that i sing. I hope later Madam Maslawati will use this style again to teach the others student. Because for me its very helping us to learn more about english language. We enjoy and we also learn. I sure, when we listen the song that we ever sing in the class we will remember each other. Thank you Madam.
