The last of the mohicans

Chapters 1 to 3 is about the Indians, British and French in the jungle. They fought each other. The British Colonel Munro and his men were at Fort William Henry . The Frenchman, Montcalm and his men near the fort. Colonel can’t fight the French without more man so he asked General Webb to sent 5,000 men from Fort Edward. Beside waited for them he also waited for this daughter Cora and Alice. They wanted to visit their father at Fort William Henry. General Webb ask Major Duncan Hawkeye to take the girls to their father and ask the Indian named Magua to show them the way. Alice don’t like the Indian. Duncan asked them to follow him and he also said that only Magua can show them the good way to Fort William Henry. On the same day, two men sat the woods and talked in the language of the Mohicans Indians Chief, Chingachgook. He told the white man that his tribe is the leader of all tribes. The Mohican want to help to them out of the woods because Magua was show they the wrong way and Magua was ran into the woods. Hawkeye told Major Hayward to help take two girls Cora and Alice up the river to Fort William Henry in our canoe. They left the horses and walked down to the river. The canoe was under some trees. Hawkeye told Cora and Alice sat at the front of the canoe. Hawkeye sat at the back, the a he pushed the canoe. The Hudson River was wide fast and dangerous and the canoe moved very quickly Cora and Alice afraid. Hawkeye stopped the canoe and they get out. The two Indians more there. They go into a cave. Inside the cave, the two girls felt safe. The made a fire. Major Hayward looked at Hawkeye, he strange clothes and big gun because he was a strong man and the young Mohican, Uncas had strong arm and black eyes didn’t have much hair and only a little on the top of his head. Uncas gave the girls same food. He spoke a little English to them when he gave food Cora, he looked at her long black hair and her dark eyes. Her sister, Alice was younger and very different. She had very light hair. Uncas liked the darker girl, Cora. The girls went to sleep but Hawkeye and the Mohicans didn’t sleep. They watched and listened.

This book is easy to understanding, comprehensive, able to understand that the culture, like Cora because Cora mother’s from the west Indian’s. Many white and British people dislike these people and dislike the colour of their skin. Compare with Alice, her mother from Scotland and white people. So Cora is a half breed. Then, Huron’s don’t accept British men because they gave their tribe fire-water and destroyed their tribe. Beside that, Indian’s fought each other so, two tribe exist, Huron’s and Mohicans.

Characters
The best characters I like is Uncas. It is because Uncas is the last Mohican, he is Chingachgook son. He have strong arms and black eyes. So, he is very brave. He didn’t have much hair, only a little on the top of his head. Uncas looked kind for Alice. Uncas also like Cora, he able to died to save Cora live from Magua. He can spoke a little English to them. He very close with Hawkeye. Although their skins are not the same colour but they like a brothers.

Message Is about loving with our family, like Colonel Munro must met her daughter, Cora and Alice and caring about their life. Cora and Alice also love each other, Cora very afraid about their young sister. She willing give her life to Magua to save Alice from die.
