A WHITE HERON and Other American Short Stories

A White Heron story about a little girl lives in the woods. She’s name Sylvia. She’s friends with the animals like birds, cow, and other. She was good friend with her cow. She is live with the grandmother. One day, she walked home with her cow, suddenly she heard a whistle. It was very loud and very near. The whistle is from a young man. Sylvia was more afraid then she thought about her grandmother. After that, the young man stayed in the Sylvia house that night. The next day, the young man walked in the wood with Sylvia. She wasn’t afraid of him now, because he was kind and friendly. She was only afraid when he shot a bird because he likes to shot birds but she watched him with a heart full of love. Then, Sylvia was sad because they didn’t find the white heron because he likes to shot white Heron. One Morning, she climb up to a very big tree. It was bigger than the other trees. After that, she can see the white Heron’s nest. She was very happy when she thought about that wonderful day. One day, she saw the heron at a beautiful ocean. It flew up near the big old tree. Then, Sylvia goes to the home. She wearing old dress and her hands and feet are very dirty. Her grandmother looks angry and the young man looks sad. She wants the young man to be happy because he is her best friend. She hears the sound of the wind in the green branches and she remembers it’s the white heron. She wanted the ocean and the morning with the heron. She cannot tell with the young man about this story and give the white heron life away. Finally, she was very sad and she wanted to be his friend and she also loved him.
